The Christmas season is in full swing! For the Salvation Army, this is one of our busiest seasons, which means there are many volunteer opportunities. Many of our Corps’ can still use your help leading up to Christmas later this week.
Many of our Corps’ provide extra services in order to offer food and toys to families in need during the holidays. Volunteering to help the Salvation Army during the Christmas season can be a blessing not only to the families receiving help but also can be a blessing to the volunteer.
Here are a few ways you can volunteer this season, contact your local Corps for more info:
- Toy Distribution– Most Corps’ provide some form of Toy assistance and are in need of people to help sort and shop for each child receiving toys.
- Food Boxes– Many corps do their best to provide families with not just toys but also with a food box. Volunteer to help pack food boxes.
- Kettles– Corps are almost always looking for volunteers to ring kettles. Consider ringing the bell for an afternoon before Christmas to help contribute to keeping The Salvation Army operating year round. Kettle funds help The Salvation Army provide services and programs to our communities.
